How to Clear Signatures to Make Edits in a Doc

Last updated on Feb 27, 2026

If you or one of your clients have already signed a document, like the CBS, but you need to make changes or edits (typo, wrong name, etc.) you can clear signatures from a document in order to make updates.

Note: this function is only available before a document is either:

  • Fully executed by all required parties on your side (i.e. agent plus all clients have signed an ERS), or

  • A document is shared with the other side of the transaction.

Once either of the above scenarios occurs, you will not be able to clear signatures to make changes as the system sees the document as complete.

How to Clear Signatures for Document Edits

If there is a typo in a signed document that is locked for editing, you can clear signatures to make updates.

  • Before all parties have signed the document:

    • Click the 'More' drop-down in the upper right-hand corner.

    • Select 'Clear Signatures' from the menu.

    • Confirm the action by clicking 'Yes'.

  • The document is now unlocked for edits.

  • Make the necessary changes to the document. Once edits are complete, request your client's signature again on the updated contract.
